Welcome!

Congratulations to all those who presented horses for KNN grading in 2008!

Full Results from the 2008 Gradings are available HERE

Once again a huge thank you has to go to all the owners who brought horses to the 2008 gradings.  As with the 2007 gradings, the Danish judges were very impressed with the high standard of horses presented at the UK gradings.

Also many thanks to the staff who were so helpful at the venues and aided in the smooth running of both days, as well as those that extended hospitality to the judges and provided such superb refreshements.

The 2008 grading dates and venues were:

26th of September 2008  Centyfield, Devon
Southcote Farm, Cotleigh, Honiton, EX14 9SY
Devon

28th of September 2008 Bishop Burton College, Yorkshire
York Road, Bishop Burton, Beverley, HU17 8QG,
Yorkshire

Please contact us if you are interested in grading your horse, or having your youngstock evaluated in 2009 - for more information please go to the website of the Knabstrupper Society (GB):

The UK Gradings are held in cooperation with the mother organisation of the Knabstrupper - the Knabstrupperforeningen for Danmark (KNN).

Horses graded at these Gradings are entered directly into KNN studbook (studbook of mother organisation). Offspring of KNN graded horses are eligible for passports issued by the mother organisation of the Knabstrupper (KNN).  There will be a brander present at each of the Gradings, and DNA samples can be taken free of charge from all horses forward for grading.

Each of the Gradings also offers the opportunity of the Performance Test  which is open to mares and geldings, as well as stallions.

Stallions which are over 4 years can now be presented for inspection and then undertake their Performance Test on the same day, without having to wait a year to be represented for their Performance Test. If they pass both the inspection and the performance test, they are fully approved by the KNN.

Breed standard and approved outcross information is listed on this site. Please see menu to the left.

Horses must be owned by KNN members to be graded. If you are not currently a KNN member, it is possible to submit your membership at the same time as you enter your horse to be graded.

Mares have to be a minimum of 3 years old to be graded, and colts can be inspected at 2.5 years old. There are youngstock evaluation classes for horses that are younger - this provides an opportunity for youngstock to be evaluated by KNN judges.

The 2007 Gradings were held on October 5th at Kingswood EC, Wolverhampton, England  and October 7th at Balcormo Stud, Fife, Scotland.
