KNN GRADING MARKS EXPLAINED

Please note the Grading marks have been translated from the Website of the Mother Stud Book - Knabstrupperforeningen for Danmark (KNN) - for the sole purpose of explaining marks given at the UK Knabstrupper Gradings 2005  and 2006 governed by the KNN. For the avoidance of doubt the Danish text takes precedence.

The grading marks given by the KNN to horses and ponies are for conformation and movement.

Since 2005 horses have been assessed according to two standards – the sports type and the classic type. In 2005 it was at the discretion of the judges which standard the horse was assessed to. In 2006 horses were assessed to both standards. The judges could however opt not to assess a horse according to both standards, if the horse was seen as being clearly of one particular standard. This is why some of the horses at the 2006 UK KNN grading do not have marks for both standards.

At the 2007 KNN grading it will be at the owner’s discretion which standard the horse should be assessed to.   It is, however, possible to have the horse assessed to both should the owner wish to do so.
